Mormons Demand Reparations!!

Here is an excerpt from the history lesson below, from 1839, which prompted me to write this. “While waiting in Washington, Joseph also grew tired of hearing politicians make grand speeches full of lofty language and empty promises. “There is such an itching disposition to display their oratory on the most trivial occasions and so much etiquette, bowing and scraping, twisting and turning to make a display of their witticism,” he told his brother in a letter. “It seems to us rather a display of folly and show more than substance and gravity.” Government hasn’t changed much since 1839. I,…

Abolish the Electoral College?

There is a big push by some high-profile Democrats to eliminate the Electoral College.  They prefer counting the popular vote as the “fairest” way to elect our President. The key to understanding the Electoral College is that it elects a President of the States, not a President of the collective people as if there were no states. If we do away with the Electoral College then sparsely populated states such as Wyoming, which has less than 600,000 people, lose their representation.  These small-population states would be totally subject to the whims of the huge population centers concentrated in just a…

Open Borders?

Guest author; Ron Lee Jones  (attorney, author, and Jonesy’s baby brother) If you think a Wall or other deterrent to allowing free access to our country is “immoral”, then don’t wait for the government to say “come on in”.  Take action yourself to demonstrate your beliefs. Let’s just all post on Facebook and Twitter that our homes are open to anyone who wants to come stay. That includes the home of every American. We will give our addresses in the post and then we will not lock our doors ever again.  We will also provide benefits.  Anyone who wants to…

Why doesn’t Trump disclose his tax returns?

A flaming Trump-hater asked me this question; Jonesy:  Why do you think Trump hasn’t disclosed his tax returns like he promised he would? Somehow his promise to build the border wall is more important to you and others than his promise to disclose his taxes. Why?????  Tim I replied to the group that Tim is in as follows: I’m only answering Tim because this is a query which is posed often and needs to be answered. Otherwise Tim’s constant finding fault with Trump is not worth responding to. Trump hasn’t released his tax returns because Trump’s taxes are buried beneath…

Fact-checking Trump’s lies using Cowboy Common Sense

President Trump made 8,158 false or misleading claims in his first two years is the headline blazoned across the top of the page. Yep, you are right. Trump lied. He lies all the time. He said the stack of hamburgers for the Clemson Team was “a mile high”. Some reporters from The Washington Post measured them and they came far short of being “a mile high”. Big lie. Huge Trump lie. Impeachable offense. And Trump asked Russia to find the missing 30,000 Hillary emails. That’s proof that Trump was colluding with Russia and that Russia was taking orders from Trump.…

Mueller Witch Hunt? Not so fast!

Bill Barr was nominated by President Trump for Attorney General.  Hearings are now going on in the Senate Judiciary Committee.  Big in the news. I, Jonesy, have had some serious misgivings about Bill Barr being nominated as Attorney General.  I’ve been trying to figure out why Trump would nominate him, especially when I learned that Barr is very good friends with Mueller who is investigating Trump.  Trump calls this a “witch hunt”.  Many of us concur because after almost three years of FBI investigation, including 20 months by the Mueller team, there has been no solid concrete evidence proving that…

Twas the Hunt Before Christmas

‘Twas a month before Christmas And I grabbed my gun, To hunt the wiley wapiti, Hoping to get a big one. I chanced upon a big elk track Pressed deep in the snow, The tips of its cloven hoofs Pointed the way I should go. The track was a bit strange, Just different, somehow. But they were big and deep, Likely a bull and not a cow. I finally got a glimpse Of a grayish-colored hide, Gray?…elk are usually black on the neck And reddish tan on the side. There! The tip of an antler! Positively a bull! I raised…

Aborting a tumor?

In trying to justify abortion, some argue “That is not a baby in the womb.  It is not a baby until it is born.”  Question:  Then what is it?  An amorphous mass like a tumor?  It’s of no more consequence to remove it than to remove a tumor?  Think seriously.  It moves.  It responds to stimuli.  It will eventually BE a baby, a child, a teenager, an adult, a parent, a grandparent. Question to abortion rights advocates: Why would a woman want to abort her child?” Answers are basically the same; “She can’t take care of it.”  “Having a baby…

NAGS join WAGS

A bit of humor for your day The National Association of Gals (NAGS) don’t hold a candle to Women Against Guides (WAGS) for sheer ability to strike fear into the hearts of peace-loving men everywhere. An unsuspecting young man falls in love. His bride vows to “honor, cherish, and obey, and not interfere with his frequent hunting trips.” (that line was in your vows, wasn’t it?) She forgets all about those last few words and hits high volume the first time her husband mortgages the dog and the kids to go on an elk hunt in Wyoming. She joins with…

Grizzlies Kill Three People

Two recent incidents of grizzlies killing humans have been emotionally tragic. On September 14, 2018, hunting guide Mark Uptain was killed by a grizzly and his hunter was injured in the Teton Wilderness Area north of Jackson, Wyoming. Mark left a wife and five children. I, Jonesy, took his teenage daughter on a horseback ride with some friends two or three weeks later. It helped her deal with her grief. Very recently, on November 26, 2018, a mother and her 10 month old daughter were killed by a grizzly in Yukon Territory. They had been living in a remote cabin…
