I got your note soliciting me for donattions to the RNC. I verify that I am a Registered Republican. But for how long?
First: The Republican Congress laid a bill on President Obama’s desk in 2015 which completely repealed ObamaCare. Of course Congress knew he would veto it. Now that the Republicans have a President that will sign it, do they put the same bill on his desk? NO! What do they do? Try to give us “ObamaCare-Lite” or “RINO-Care”. I am TOTALLY disgusted.
Can’t you understand how FED UP “We, the People” are with politics as usual? Republicans are showing that they are just the same as the Democrats. Until the “old guard” of Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, John McCain, and Lindsay Graham, et al, are gone, we have no hope of the Republican Party ever promoting freedom.
Haven’t you heard of the free enterprise system? It will take care of our health care needs. The free market will provide what we want without government getting involved, other than to release the insurance companies to sell across state lines. We have the freedom to buy insurance or not to buy it. Government cannot mandate it, according to the Constitution. Neither “healthcare” nor “insurance” are “enumerated” in the Constitution, therefore that power belongs to the states or to the people.
Second: You are talking “tax reform”, “in a few months”, “maybe”. But this so-called “reform” is just tweaking around the edges. How about totally eliminating the federal income tax and giving us a Constitutional excise tax, such as a Value Added Tax or a National Sales Tax? No record keeping, no IRS breathing down our necks, no forms to fill out, no “return” to file, simply paying a bit more when we buy something. We can choose to buy or not to buy. We cannot choose to make money in order to live. That is why a direct tax is STILL prohibited by the Constitution. (but that is another issue for another column)
Until the RNC gets its act together and understands that there is a bona-fide revolt brewing, they will never have any power. We will vote you out next time around if we don’t get our freedoms this time. You promised. Now you are reneging. You aren’t getting a dime in donations from me.
